Creating a Character
- First things first, it needs to be explained that your character can literally be of any species, excluding marine life, insects and humans. Yes, you can be any other creature from Earth that you can think of. Good, huh? But remember, these have to be actual animals from our planet - Not fantasy things like dragons and unicorns and all that kinda stuff. ^.^
- If you look through the rest of the rules board, you will see that each character can possess a magical ability (More about them will be explained later). When you make your character, you can choose out of the listed abilities which one your character will have. I’m giving you free reign to choose, so be grateful! XD Remember though, they must be from this ability list!
- It’s advisable that you do a little research about the species you choose, or at least know enough about them to be able to know how long they live for, what kind of stuff they eat, all that jazz. There’s a broad enough range for you to roleplay creatures you may never have roleplayed before, so you might want to know a little about them before you go off and introduce them to the roleplay world.
- You can have as many characters as you want on one account, and have as many characters as you like overall, but please be sensible and choose an amount you can keep active.
In Character
- Swearing is allowed all over the site, but please, use it in moderation. You’ll start looking stupid if you begin using a curse every second word.
- Every in character post must be at least 100 words long. This isn’t a very large amount once you get writing properly, and you can go as much over it as you want.
- Posting under the minimum once will get you one verbal warning. After this, every time you post under the minimum, 20% will be added to your warning bar.
- Liquid time is allowed here, which means you can be in more than one thread at once – Be in as many as you like, but try and keep them all active, just for the sake of the people you’re roleplaying with. :3
- Okay, we all know it’s unrealistic for an elephant to be wandering around the tundra, or for a polar bear to be hanging out in a desert, but we’re talking about a world where you could, hypothetically, roleplay a telepathic frog. Let’s not go down that road. XD Your animals can go wherever they want, regardless of their natural habitat.
- Despite having magical abilities, your characters must look normal and natural for their species. This means no weird colours, no jewellery, no extra limbs or heads… You get the idea.
- Every season will last two real life weeks.
Breeding
- No graphic breeding whatsoever, please! Just post in the notifications board and be done with it.
- You can breed at any time of the year.
- I know we’re going beyond the boundaries of believability by enabling flying crocodiles, but please, breeding can only happen between two animals of the same species. This also means that, say, a tiger can’t mate with a domestic cat – Well, would you see a human and a monkey have a baby? Or a parrot and a sparrow? Just because something’s from the same family, doesn’t mean they can magically reproduce.
- The babies in the litter will be given an ability by a staff member – If both parents have the same ability, the chances of the baby getting that ability will be increased, but otherwise staff can just choose a power at random and give it to the infant.
- You don’t have to roleplay the mother being pregnant for any amount of time, but you can do if you want.
- Only two babies will be given out in every litter, regardless of their species or breed. I don’t care how unrealistic this may be, but a baby for the mother and a baby for the father seems fine, as I don’t want to start handing out loads of young that are just going to go inactive.
- You may roleplay your own mate if you really want.
Fighting
- One of the main concerns with allowing any species on this site is, really, about how they will fight – Do you imagine an elephant and a mouse pitched against each other with a fair chance of winning? No. So I’m going to have to ask that you pick your fights wisely, and perhaps ask a staff member before you get two characters of opposite species into a battle so we can tell you if it would be allowed or not.
- All fights will be judged by a staff member, and you may ask for a re-judge if you really want.
- You can decide the terms for the fight, like if there will be a word limit or how many posts can be made. Totally up to you.
- Obviously, having different abilities will give you an advantage in a fight. In theory, how could an animal that could heal itself be able to ever loose? Well, to put it bluntly, you think how they could have a disadvantage. If you’re seen in a fight using your ability to get out of any harm and to always hurt the other character fatally, then obviously you will be marked down for it and will almost certainly loose. Bear that in mind when using your powers in fights.
Abilities
- As already mentioned, you can choose your ability when you create a character. Now, you can either choose to have your character a master of their ability, after training a lot before they entered the site, or you can have them be a bit of a novice at it, and learn to use them properly throughout the time on the site. It’s up to you, and which of the two you’ll find more enjoyable.
- Try to avoid a character that uses their power without consequence. Maybe if they use it for too long they get tired? Maybe they can only do it at certain times of the day? Maybe they can only project the results onto other creatures? Use your imagination.
- You may only have one ability. Pick wisely!
Rules may be added or removed as I see necessary. All content to the site is copywrited, including graphics, posts and the skin.
