Dusk settles in the streets of London. People, dressed to the nines, pour into the only source of light in the street: the theatre. Blazing triumphantly, it proclaims current plays and promises ones in the making. Laughter echoes in the foyer, where crowds mill around and seek guidance to their seats. Once they're settled, the lights go down, the curtain rises, and the first actor steps out onto an empty stage... welcome to London, where you have to succeed to survive. Behind the scenes, directors stress out while hair and make-up rush to make final touch ups. Actors are still being sewn into their flamboyant outfits and designers are tutting over flaws in backdrops. Choose your job and your life in the theatre. Must you learn your lines? Or your place? We are active. We are literate.
